Overview

The Stretegic Assault, Defense, and Training Battlemech, or Sadat, was designed to bridge the training mech and combat mech roles and give the 2nd RSAB the ability to deploy a force of lesser-skilled battlemech pilots while still allowing them to be effective. Deployed almost exclusively to Home Guard and Militia units, the design allows the 2nd RSAB to make use of the large number of their citizenry who have battlemech training.

Design

Since its introduction, the Sadat has become the standard training mech within the 2nd RSAB and the one mech that anyone with training will be familiar with.

The design is exceptionally stable, mobile, and well-armoured. While the mech is slightly under-gunned its weapons are enhanced by an advanced targeting system and the mech is protected by a strong defensive system.

Mounting two ER Large Lasers as its primary weapons, the mech is able to strike and inflict respectable damage at both long and short ranges. The supporting weapons consist of a Medium Pulse Laser in each forearm as well as a cluster of 3 Anti-Personnel Gauss Rifles in the torso to deter infantry attacks. Each weapon is slaved to the mech's advanced targeting computer making the design a very precise fighter.

The mech's 9.25 tons of armour gives it the best protection available for its weight class. The standard Countermeasures Suite coupled with a Laser Anti-Missile System provides excellent defense against incoming missile fire with the AMS doubling as an infantry deterrent as well.
