2nd RSAB Structure

The current organization of the 2nd RSAB is modelled on the original organization of the Star League Defense Forces. The 2nd RSAB is divided into 14 primary departments called commands, and a series of secondary, or sub-commands.

Training and Deployment Command

The function of the Training and Deployment Command (TDC) is to manage the various 2nd RSAB training facilities and to manage the assignment of newly graduated personnel to their initial postings.

Training and Education Sub-Command

The TESC is responsible for the running of all military training facilities and academies. The TESC develops and administers the admission exams as well as assigning staff to the various facilities. The mandate of the TESC is to strive to produce the best graduates possible ensuring that they are the most capable (militarily) while at the same time having the widest breadth of education and experience possible.

Deployment Sub-Command

The DSC is responsible for assigning new graduates to their first postings. The DSC receives requests from the administrative units of the various commands for personnel and attempts to fill those requirements as best as possible. Once all front-line unit requests have been filled, any remaining personnel are assigned to reserve units. The DSC is also responsible for handling the needs of those individuals who wish to muster at some point after their minimum service term has passed. The DSC works with the Civilian Liaison Command to find retirees civilian positions.

Judge Advocate General's Command

The JAG Command is responsible for administering the 2nd RSAB code of conduct and justice to all members of the 2nd RSAB. This command is small because of the small number of crimes and infractions that occur. The JAG command has 3 sub-commands, each with its own specialized duties.

Judicial Sub-Command

The Judicial Sub-Command is responsible for appointing judges and administering the military courts.

Advocate Sub-Command

The Advocate Sub-Command trains advocates. These advocates can be called on as either prosecutors or defense counsel in a case and are familiar with the legal rules and processes.

Military Police Sub-Command

The Military Police Sub-Command (MPSC) is responsible for running the 2nd RSAB's Military Police (MP) units. MP units are structured identically to the Marine Corps units (in terms or rank and organization) but are composed almost exclusively of light infantry personnel. The Military Police does use a small number of light armour, VTOL, aerospace, and mechanized infantry units as well as a number of small, non-combat DropShips and JumpShips. Should an MP unit require additional forces, those units can be commandeered under the authority of either the MP Commandant or an MP Colonel.

The Military Police is responsible for dealing with any criminal matters involving (or potentially involving) military or reserves personnel. In addition, the Military Police work with the 2nd RSAB Intelligence Corps with regards to matters of espionage involving 2nd RSAB personnel. Finally, the Military Police provide support to the civilian police services.
