Unit Composition Notes
From Drew's Battletech Wiki
General Notes
- Independent regiments always have at least one Assault DropShip attached to their DropShip unit
- Hussar and Dragoon Regiments have a single LAM lance attached to the command unit
- Light Horse Regiments have a LAM company
- There are several independent LAM companies that can be attached (either as a company or lance) to existing units - these independent LAM companies are considered part of the front-line units
- All independent regiments have a DropShip lift capacity of approximately 20% greater than required to actually lift all units in the regiment
- All independent regiments have at least one "scout" class JumpShip attached to their JumpShip unit
- All units with a "Mobile HQ" unit also have a DropShip that contains HQ facilities appropriate to the unit and also transports a mobile HQ.
- All units' "Support Unit" include repair, communication, supply, medical, and administrative personnel and equipment.
- Transport for "Support Units" are included in the unit's "DropShip Unit"
- Battle and Heavy Assault Regiments should each have a LAM lance assigned to the Command unit
- Independent Regiments should have a search-and-recovery (SAR) unit attached to their Support units
- Brigades and Divisions, as well as independent front-line units should also have SAR units assigned to their Support units
- There needs to be an array of Combat Engineering DropShip designs to hold the various combat engineering units of the Regiments, Brigades, Divisions, and other Independent Units.
